Great opportunity to meet pioneers of shipping: visiting students of World Maritime University

Postgraduate students of Shipping Management Logistics at IMO’s World Maritime University who visited Greece a few days ago expressed their satisfaction with the opportunity to visit Piraeus and hear from Greek shipping executives a few of the secrets that have contributed to the Greek miracle in the seas, speaking to maritimes.gr.

The University has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the American Hellenic Hull Insurance Company last year and students were hosted a few days ago on Liberty for a maritime insurance seminar.

"It was very beneficial to hear about the procedures and have the opportunity to get in touch with the shipowners" said Stanley Kupera from South Africa.

"It's great to talk to so many shipping professionals with deep knowledge and experience" added Rachel Amel from Belize.

Mohamed Mujaddin from Bangladesh is already an assistant professor in the Department of Ports and Maritime Management at a university in his country.

"Greece is at the epicenter of global shipping and it is a valuable experience having Greek shipping executives sharing their knowledge" he told maritimes.gr

This trip was very constructive. In the classroom, we learned the theory, but here we were able to see things in practice” noted Cyrus Michael Johnston from Liberia.
